The room itself is another thing to take into account when considering various types of wallpaper materials. If you are going to remodel the living room and the dining room, go for paper wallpaper. For walls that need to have easy-to-clean surfaces, such as those in the kitchen, the bathroom, and the childrens room, you should opt for vinyl or vinyl-coated home decorating wallpaper. Vinyl wallpapers are more durable than those made of paper, making them a great choice for rooms where wallpaper suffers more wear-and-tear than most other spaces within the home.
This is a quick, maintainable, affordable and easy to install solution for your decorating needs. It can be applied over paint or other wallpaper. It comes in two ways either pre-pasted or un-pasted. If un-pasted first apply the paste to the wall so the mural does not become damp from the adhesive. Excess past can be removed with a sponge. A brush is used to smooth out the mural. Trimming is done after the mural is fully dried. The standard pre-pasted wallpaper mural comes in an eight panel format. They are arranged in four panels above and four panels below. You can also choose to get them in vertical strips instead of panels. Another option at your finger tips are accent murals. These are a smaller version for decorating purposes.
Once the seams have been sanded, you can next apply a coat of oil based primer. Apply the primer by cutting out around all of the edges such as next to the flooring and ceiling. You can next roll a coat of primer on the walls. Since you are using an oil based primer, you will need paint thinner to clean your brush and roller. Allow the primer to fully dry before going to the next step.
If you still are not able to peel the wallpaper down with your hands, you will need to use a scraper. Again, keep your scraper as close to the wall as possible and scrape from top to bottom and horizontally across the edge of the wallpaper as you work you way down.
